About one and a half
hours north from San Francisco there is a gigantic peninsula, that leads approx.
40 km into the Pacific Point Reyes National Seashore.

Pictures can describe the solitary peninsula scarcely in its original beauty –
nevertheless here a couple of impressions that undertake the attempt to catch
the atmosphere...

Although California counts as sun
country, just here the sun - especially in summer often gives way to fog, that
wraps the mountains from the sea. And even in sun: the tip of Point Reyes is
famous to be one of the most windy points of the world. Winds in typhoon
strength are quite normal here! A couple of kilometers inland it is often very
different, mild, soft sun, solitary farms: a contrast program of the
superlative.

Whale and white sharks ..?
Yes, very certainly, the whales can even be observed. The water is by the
way bitter cold, in the summer as well as in the winter .

And meandering country inhabitants are also underway, see below!

Steps lead down. here.....
Point Reyes Lighthouse at the outer point of Point Reyes.
The most romantic spot of the world high over the most solitary beach?
This is my favorite place, already some times I sat here!
Almost back on the "continent": no wind, no waves
Summa Summarum: highly recommended
